Recently they discovered that if you send a beam of light past the sun in it's gravitational pull, and having it bounce off a mirror and back to earth, it actualy slows down light , they then found out that what was actualy happening was that time was slowing down as it went past it, they tested this by sending a beam of light to the mirror again away from the sun and it came back faster, even though the planet was farther then it was when they tested it near the sun. so by using gravity you can slow down time and in turn , light. just a little info i heard from the science channel. and thought it might be interesting.
